About Dr Megan Kendall

Clinical Psychologist | Founder of Harbour Psychology | Poole & Online

I’m Dr Megan Kendall, a Clinical Psychologist and the founder of Harbour Psychology. I work with teenagers and adults aged 12 and over, helping people create meaningful change and a stronger sense of connection with themselves and others.

My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I aim to make therapy feel safe, compassionate, and genuinely useful — a space where you can explore your experiences without judgment and begin to understand how past patterns may be influencing your present life.

Professional Background

I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2011 from the University of Surrey, and then worked within NHS psychological therapy services supporting people with a wide range of mental health and relational difficulties. In 2017, I founded Harbour Psychology and in 2020 made the move to full-time independent practice. I now work with clients in person in Poole and online across the UK, specialising in trauma, dissociation, and complex emotional difficulties.

Therapeutic Approach

I integrate a number of evidence-based and trauma-informed models, including:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Elements of Polyvagal Theory and EMDR-informed work

This flexible and collaborative approach allows therapy to be adapted to your individual needs rather than fitting you into a single model.

Professional Registration and Memberships

  • Member, International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD)
